(the following passage is written by Kent, not me)
Might as well quit school
After finished the reading of the article about studying in college, it makes me think of what I really learn at school. Is that worth? Am i really learning or just doing works for my future?
I persoanlly thought this was an amazing article. Especially realiizing my university degree may not be as valuable as I would like it to be. I never really thought about if my 4 years in
university was worth all that investment. Though for Canadians the burden maybe much less thanAmericans when it comes to college tuition. Going to university has been so typical I would say. After waving good bye to high school, the next stop is always another 4 years of higher education. Though It is true nowdays, employers are looking for personnel with better work ethics and a positive attitude. Along with innovative ideas to help the company strive and make more profit. Education, being one of the most important concepts in traditional minds, is only a mere bonus. In a survey done by Forbes, less than 20% of the 100 richest people in the U.S have a MBA degree. After reading the article it really intrigues me if I should continue to progress after my bachelour’s or just drop out now and start establishing my own business. There is a saying about truly smart people hires people that are smarter than him. I think this applies perfectly in this situation. The bosses of top corporations hire smarter people to think of innocative ideas to help him to earn more profit and increase sales. Speaking in mind, graduates are working for non-graduates. And reality being as cruel as it is, speaks the truth.
